The most important part of any boating experience: Safety

March 25, 2014

As the season is getting underway, please make it a point to carefully know your safety equipment and inspect each piece since those aboard your vessel will look to you when there's something going wrong and they become worried. Inspect the seams and buckles of your life preservers. Make sure you always have multiple sizes and a throw ring along with a dedicated life line which is also in good shape with the ability to float on top of the surface. All items need to be unencumbered from an easy reach to be able to react to any situation which deems those safety items necessary.

Inspect different equipment and make sure you've got more than enough instead of having to scramble during a time when it's desperately in need. Flare guns should be carefully inspected and a multitude of flares should be aboard and within safety dates of expiration. Everyone loves to be on the water speeding across, but without the proper gear, those fun events could turn tragic. Safety doesn't just stop with lifesaving equipment, it also stems from sun screen and a helpful mate to depend upon during times of stress. Your friends at wish you fun and frivolity on the water with safety always being a part of your action!
